EMG Cleaning Systems is expanding its presence in I&I cleaning.
December 28, 2015

Editor-in-Chief
Small companies usually face an uphill battle when entering a marketplace where big names dominate the conversation. But that isn’t deterring EMG Cleaning Systems, a young cleaning products firm that’s looking to grow its presence in the US industrial and institutional (I&I) marketplace. This Miami-based firm—which exhibited alongside the biggest brands in the I&I business at ISSA/InterClean in Las Vegas—offers a range cleaning products that are eco-friendly. But the company’s executives know current dynamics require firms to have more than green chemistry to survive. “The marketplace for janitorial products and services is changing, both in nature and scope,” noted Queralt Puig, sales manager for the company, which touts the Eco Green cleaning products range of multipurpose cleaners, odor eliminators and degreasers. According to Puig, for the US market, EMG wants to carve out a niche by “solving those annoying problems that every business is looking to find a solution for. For example, nowadays, a lot of water free toilets/urinals are being installed, but the cleaning, odor and maintenance of those are a big problem…With our products, you can clean without damaging and control odor without masking,” he said. But expectations are high these days, and EMG contends customers remain skeptical, jaded by other green products that left promises unfulfilled. “In jan/san, normally customers are looking for something new, safe, eco-friendly, but also economic. They are trying to find everything in one, and that makes our job difficult.” In addition, Puig said he’s found that prospective customers “believe that they have tried everything…or they are tired of being misguided with all the organic and non-toxic that at the end of the day is not 100% true…” In fact, he hopes EMG will redefine the meaning of green and eco-friendly in the category. “We think those concepts had been wrongly used and it's time to have something new and refreshing in the market,” Puig said. “We offer something revolutionary. For example our cleaner is foam-free, rinse-free, non-scented and has no color. So [it] looks like water, but really cleans better than a lot of products you can find in the market.” In April, EMG Cleaning Systems earned the USDA Certified Bio-based Product Label for its products. More recently, the company added a new screen cleaner spray. More info: www.emgEcoSolutions.com
